Receiving your order

When you receive your order

We use the most up to date methods to pack your meat to ensure it arrives with you in perfect condition. Most of your goods are vacuum packed and securely placed in the re-usable cool-box. The cool-box keeps everything frozen during transit and it also protects your goods from knocks and bumps.

Frozen products

Your frozen meat will usually be packed with dry ice. Dry ice is a frozen natural gas, which turns straight from a solid back into a gas with no liquid state in between. Please don’t touch the dry ice bags with your bare hands, and always place your frozen products into the freezer immediately. You will receive full instructions with your order on how to handle the dry ice sachets.

Thawing meat

Allow plenty of time for your meat to defrost. It’s best if it can be defrosted in the fridge. Never leave meat to defrost in a warm environment as it can lead to a risk of food poisoning.

If you are short of time, place the products (still in the vacuum packs) in a clean sink or bowl and leave it under a cold running tap. The more cold water that can circulate around the meat, the quicker it will thaw. Do not be tempted to cook straight from frozen or defrost in a microwave as this can cause the meat to become tough and dry.
